A New Year, Card Restocking

Ahhh...January.  The eyes are ready for new colors, new prints, and new ideas.  I love Christmas cards and decorations but it's always wonderful when you get to switch gears and change your crafty focus.  This post is mostly a sharing of my current cards.  Featuring lots of new items from the Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog and the Sale- A-Bration freebies.  And you might notice that I am in love with the bitty banners stamp set and punch!  Luckily the punch will be carrying over to the 2014 big book so I'm sure there will be an equally awesome stamp set to go with it.  So here we go:

Look how cute these are!  Same, yet different. Retro Fresh DSP and bitty banners stamp set and punch and see you later stamp set (sale- a- bration).

This card has a bit more of a vintage feel, the bitty banners again!

Two thank you cards with a different feel.  The thanks and thank you both from SU's polymer set.

A quick and cute Birthday card for a 7 year old friend.
And lastly, a dignified Valentine that I just LOVE.

I hope that you enjoy these card ideas.  Any questions, just let me know!  Happy Stampin'!

A Window to Happiness

So, I purchased this really pretty stamp set from the new Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog, but have you ever bought a set and then not really known what to do with it?  The set in question is Happy Congratulations.  I just loved the words and the lanterns.  Anyhow, I was looking around on Pinterest (maybe you've been there?  look for me, audrayoga) and I saw a card with some birds on a wire die cut out over the open space, and even though what I had was pretty different, I dropped everything and got busy.
Here is what I came up with:

I made a window card, using the square framelits in the bigshot, I cut out the card base and the pistachio pudding front layer with the same square.  Then I used vellum paper for the window.  I stamped the vellum with Versamark ink and embossed it with smoky slate embossing powder (I used smoky slate for the card base too). Using the aqua painter, I painted in the lanterns with pistachio pudding, crisp cantaloupe, and soft sky.

When you hold the card closed, you can see the congratulations through the vellum window.

Well, I hope you are inspired!  Happy crafting and congratulations on any thing you make.

RemArkables Lovey Dovey Blog Tour

As our crafty times of all things Christmas and winter holidays wains, a crafty crafter may wonder, "What should I make now?"  Well, the RemArkables Pin Worthy Blog Tour is here to help!!  And we're thinking that you should be making Valentines! Or anniversary cards, or wedding cards, but definitely something lovey dovey.  So here is my contribution, I hope it inspires you.

Let's begin with the Stampin' Up! Love you more set.  It's available just for a short while, so I advise ordering it asap.  This card features lots of paper layers, which I just adore.  A little I am me DSP, some so saffron card stock, some this and that washi tape and the sentiment/image stamped in real red and voila a nice card to give to your honey OR your Grandma!

This card puts a few new things together. The cute you & me sentiment is from the Occasions catalog, the Perfect Pennants set and I used the Banners Framelits (available in a bundle at a 15% discount). To continue the banner idea, I used 2 items from the sale-a-bration brochure (a free item with every $50 purchase). Stamp the banners and punch them out, easy-peasy!  I then sewed down the front of the card (sew cute!) and topped it off with some shiny black ribbon.  My favorite part of this card is here:

Look close, the tiny banner that says "love".  In the stamp set, it's a banner that hangs the vertical way, but I wanted it horizontal.  So I used my marker to ink up just the word and stamped and punched it the other way!! Pretty awesome!

So carry on January crafter and see what the other RemArkable Stampers have for you.
