Be Mine, A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop

I'm so glad to be back hopping with the Paper Pumpkin Thing Crew!

I love this month's kit! However, as an empty nester, I don't really need 24 treat boxes. But I'm an Auntie who likes to send cards to all the littles in the family, so I'm planning to make lots of cards to send them for Valentine's Day.

Isn't this super cute? I used our Notecards to make this sweet card. I cut down two of the pillow boxes so that I could use them just like DSP. I did take the few extra minutes so that I could die cut out the four small squares with our Stitched Shapes Framelits. I cut apart the little chameleons so that I could place them in different squares. I think that all my nieces and nephews will really like these cards.

As an empty nesting mom, I do like to send my adult children care packages. My youngest is a sophomore in college, and he really likes getting the email that means he has a package. Pretty much every package involves candy. So I though I should make a bigger treat box to include in his care package. I saw a cute little box posted recently from my most excellent crafting friend Michelle Suit, who got the idea from UK crafter Sam Hammond (Pootles). So I decided to give it a try.

Sam calls it a tent box. It's a tented box bottom with a slide on cover. I used Crumb Cake for the base and two of the kit boxes cut down and attached together for the slider top.

This piece is 3" x 8". Once you attach the pieces, you'll need to cut some off one side to bring the piece to 8". The base is a piece of card stock 4" x 11" scored on the long side at 3 1/2", 5 1/4", 8 3/4", 10 1/2". You'll need two pencil tick marks at 4 3/8" and 9 5/8". Score the short side at 2 3/4".
You can see Sam's tutorial and video HERE.

I hope that you enjoyed my alternate projects.

And I hope that you love the fun and variety of our Paper Pumpkin kits.

Valentine Framed Art Sampler

Hi Crafty Friends!

Are you one of those people who decorate for each holiday? I'm one of those people who wish that I did. I love looking at the seasonal decorations at the store, and sometimes I do buy them and display them. But I can't quite make that seasonal magic happen (except maybe at Christmas, I think I do ok then). And I love the Valentine's Day stuff. It's so pretty all the reds and pinks and whites and the hearts. I love the hearts! So you'll understand why I am so pleased with this sampler.

I adore the All My Love suite in the Occasions catalog. The paper is so sweet! And the Be Mine Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, seriously, you need them.

Let's get the measurements out of the way, then we can take a closer look.

Large Square: Whisper White, 4 1/2" x 4 1/2", Flirty Flamingo, 4 5/8" x 4 5/8", Lovely Lipstick, 4 3/4" x 4 3/4", DSP, 1 1/2" x 4 1/2" and 1" x 4 1/2"
Rectangle: DSP, 2" x 4 1/2", Flirty Flamingo, 2 1/8" x 4 5/8", Lovely Lipstick, 2 1/4" x 4 3/4"
Small Squares: DSP, 2" x 2", Flirty Flamingo, 2 1/8" x 2 1/8", Lovely Lipstick, 2 1/4"x 2 1/4"
Crumb Cake, 8 1/4" x 8 1/4", Flirty Flamingo, 8 5/8" x 8 5/8", Lovely Lipstick, 8 1/2" x 8 1/2"Whisper White, 9" x 9"

It's so bright and cheerful and it looks great on my shelf.

Let's take a closer look at the different parts of the sampler. When your putting a sampler together, use Stampin' Dimensionals liberally! (That is if you are using a shadowbox frame, as I am here. This is a 9" x 9" Belmont shadowbox frame from Michael's).

Banners for You with the coordinating dies, Bunches of Banners (I just love them!). I gave the I love you sentiment a teeny bit of bend when I mounted it on the block so that it would fit in the banner nicely. And isn't that stitched heart adorable? All My Love Ribbon.

All My Love DSP and die cuts. I heat embossed the Flirty Flamingo heart in white.

More pretty die cut hearts and DSP.

Same suite of products, plus the love die cut from the Well Written Framelit Dies. Use our adhesive sheets under the words and the detailed hearts.

The Sampler class is coming up on January 23rd. Rsvp by the 21st (or sooner, only 12 spots) to join the fun. This is also available as a Class to Go (no stamped images, but everything cut and die cut and ready to be assembled) for $25 plus shipping. Or as a completed piece for $30 plus shipping. (Frames not included). Rsvp with payment by 1/21.
Email me audramonk@yahoo.com for a payment link.

A Winter Sampler

Hi Crafty Fiends!
I'm a little late in getting this Framed Art Sampler posted, and I'm super sorry about it. But better late than never! So, I apologize in advance that some of the products aren't available any more, but fortunately, lots of these holiday products carried over.
I know there are also lots of good things that you could substitute so I'll mention them too. Remember, you can get as creative as you want!

This project came about because of the Spring sampler we made earlier in the year. I decided we needed to make one for each season, similar but different so that I could hang them in my foyer. I am so happy that I did. I love them!

It makes me happy to look at them when I enter and exit the house.

Let's start with the measurements:

Whisper White, 9" x 9"
Balmy Blue, 8 1/2" x 8 1/2"
Smoky Slate 8" x 8"
Long Rectangle:
Whisper White, 2" x 7 1/8", Balmy Blue, 2 1/4" x 7 3/8", Whisper White, 2 3/8" x 7 1/2"
Medium Rectangle:
Whisper White, 2" x 4 1/2" and 1/2" x 4 1/2", Balmy Blue, 2 1/4" x 4 3/4", Whisper White, 2 3/8" x 4 7/8"
Squares:
Whisper White, 2" x 2", Balmy Blue, 2 1/4" x 2 1/4", Whisper White, 2 3/8" x 2 3/8"

I embossed the Whisper White pieces with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder and some with the Swirls and Curls Embossing Folder (it carried over, #147923 The ski's are from the Alpine Adventure set, it's retired, I think you could die cut some of the bare trees out from the In the Woods Framelits (it carried over!! The dies are #147919, you should totally order them and the stamp set, #147661, that's where the pretty tree came from, I'll show you more in a sec) in Early Espresso or Smoky Slate.

The snowflakes are from the Snowflake Showcase, which was a limited edition set. We have a few other snowflake dies you could use, such as the ones in the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. This sweet owl from the Still Night bundle, retired. But I'm thinking you could use the branch from the Seasonal Layers set.

This is my favorite panel. I just adore these deer, and the tree. The Dashing Deer stamp set (#147728) and the Detailed Deer Framelits Dies (#147915) both carried over, you should order them too. I know, I'm telling you to buy lots of stuff, but it's all so pretty. I am really happy with how I made the layers here. I used dimensionals to pop up the extra strip of white, and the tree.

This tree from the Winter Woods set is so lovely.

It was important to have this project say Winter to go with the rest of my samplers. I used snowflakes from the Snowflake Sentiments set, it's in the Annual catalog. I stamped them in Versamark ink and embossed them in silver. Then I die cut them out with the Large Letters Framelits.

The Snowflake Elements are not available, but I think a die cut snowflake would work just as well.

I hope this post encourages you to create something wonderful to have for your home that you can enjoy for a long time. If you make one, let me know. I'd love to see what you make.

If you need help shopping, let me know. Our products are available here: audramonk.stampinup.net.

Let's Sale-A-Brate! It's ICS Blog Hop Time

Hi Crafty Friends!
Happy New Year! It's one of the best times of the year, it's Sale-A-Bration! It's the time of year where Stampin' Up! gives us free stuff with qualifying purchases. And we're starting it off right with an ICS Blog Hop!

We are sharing projects using new products from our Occasions catalog, available for ordering starting January 3. My project this month features parts of the All My Love suite.

I made the sweetest Valentine using the Meant to Be bundle (the framelits are amazing!) and the All My Love DSP. I also used the All My Love Ribbon Combo pack. I made LOTS of this card! I made it as a swap for a demonstrator group I'm in.

A swap is where you make a certain number of cards (in this case 38) and then trade them with others. It's great for me as in a week or so I'll have lots of beautiful cards to share using new products. I'll be sure to share them with you when I get them.

Here's a look at my swap prep process:

I cut all of the paper, die cut out the hearts, and stamped the greeting.

Remember to use our Adhesive Sheets behind the intricate die cuts so that you can stick them on super quick.

Then I put them all together!

Before they go in the mail, I put them in our clear envelopes to protect them.

That's a lot of love!

Then they go in a ziplock bag and get sent priority mail. The demonstrator hosting the swap sorts them all out and sends a packet containing different swaps back.

I'm really looking forward to receiving my swaps. They'll give me lots of inspiration for upcoming classes. But, I can give you some inspiration now! Click HERE or the next button below to see what Sharon has to share.

Thanks for joining me and for checking out all the inspiration on the ICS Blog Hop.

Have a great time shopping audramonk.stampinup.net. With each $50 purchase, you can earn a free item from our Sale-A-Bration brochure. We also have great joining and shopping/hosting offers too!
