Envelope Punch Board Boxes, with video

Hi Crafty Friends!

So, maybe you want to make a few boxes. I've got the idea for you! Use your Envelope Punch Board! If you don't have one, go to my online store: audramonk.stampinup.net or contact me and I'll help you out. To make the boxes, I have the measurements below and then watch the video and make away. If you need help, let me know!

Let's start with the small box. 

Card stock or DSP 6x6.

Punch and score at 2 1/8 and 3 7/8. Turn paper and punch and score using the score lines now there.

To make the wrap, this one punched with the Tag Topper Punch:

DSP or card stock 7 1/2x2, score at 6 1/4, 5, 2 1/2, and 1 1/4.

Or, use a strip 9 inches by 1-2 inches. 

For the card sized box:

Card stock 9x9.

Score and punch at 3 1/2 and 4 1/2. Do the other sides, punching and scoring from the first set of score marks.

Oh Christmas Cards, How I Love You.

Hi Crafty Friends! Welcome to another Remarkable Blog Hop. And this one I am super excited about (okay, I am often excited about crafty things). This is going to be a picture heavy post, and I hope you enjoy it and feel inspired to create lots of handmade holiday cards to share with your family and friends.

In my classes, we have been making holiday cards since July (I think). As a person who often has good intentions toward crafting and gifting but usually runs out of time, I think this is a great way to build up your Christmas card stock, so as December approaches, the cards are ready. You can write a little something, stick a family photo in, address them, stamp them (I even bought my holiday stamps last week) and most importantly, MAIL them. So if you haven't started yet, there's still time! Find some inspiration, get out your supplies (or buy some from me) and get crafting.

Stampin' Up has lots of amazing, beautiful and versatile holiday products in the Holiday catalog and the Annual catalog. When I create, I am often inspired by ideas I see online, whether it's Pinterest or in various groups I'm in. Sometimes a card is a mash up of a few I've seen, sometimes it's all me (that's always very exciting) and sometimes I just copy it. So thank you to all the other crafters out there who have helped and inspired me with their creations. I hope my cards inspire you, and if not, maybe something will from another of the Remarkable blog hoppers. As always, we love your comments.

Pop Up Panel Card, How To With Video

Hi Crafty Friends!
Here is my how to make a pop up panel card. It really is so much fun and not so hard to do.

So, here is our sweet little card, hiding the magic.

Here are the measurements/papers you'll need:
Card front, card stock 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, front panels: CS 4 x 5 1/4, DSP 3 3/4 x 5.
Inside: 8 1/4 x 11 (this is the one for measuring and drawing all the lines).
DSP for inside: 2 pieces at 4 x 5 1/4 (you'll cut 2 corners off these) 1 piece at 3 x 3 3/4 for writing on.
For folding part: CS at 2 3/4 x 11, score at 2 3/4, 5 1/2, 8 1/4.
DSP, 4 pieces, 2 1/2 x 2 1/2.
For stamping: 2 pieces, 2 1/4 x 1 1/2 and 2 1 3/4 circles.

On your 8 1/4 x 11 piece:

On the short side, mark dots at: 2 1/8, 4 1/4, and 6 3/8, on both sides.

On the long side: mark dots at: 4 1/4, 5 1/2, and 6 3/4.

Lightly with pencil draw the lines horizontally and the center line at 5 1/2--score this one.

On the tow outside horizontal lines, mark dots at 4" and 7" connect them to the marks at 4 1/4 and 6 3/4 on both sides.

Cut out the corners.

Halloween Fun, Remarkable Blog Hop

Hi Crafty Friends! It's time for the Remarkable blog hop. A group of demonstrators get together (virtually) to share some creative ideas, the third Sunday of every month. And here it is, that third Sunday! Today we are sharing Fall and Halloween ideas.

I love Fall and Halloween, (maybe as much as I love Christmas)! I am a sucker for all things seasonal. And yes, I have had a pumpkin scone at Starbucks already this season, even though it's still pretty hot in Maryland.

 I'm sharing two projects today. Both Halloween cards, one quick and easy, and one a bit more involved. I bought two Halloween stamp sets from the Holiday Catalog this year. Although I think the whole Halloween line is totally awesome.

My quick card uses the Jar of Haunts set and features the truly lovely Halloween Night Specialty DSP. If you've checked in with me before, you know how I love my DSP.

Super cute, yes? And true confession, I may have been eating a wee little bit of candy corn as I was making this. I needed it for research purposes, to know which order the colors went, so I could color  the candy with my Stampin' Write markers. And note, there are several two packs in the Holiday Catalog, awesome!The sentiment is from the Spooky Fun stamp set, which is up next.

This is a double Z fold card. They're all the rage in crafty land, so I had to jump on the hay wagon. There are a lot of videos out there, and I just might make one myself this week, so I'll just give the basic measurements here.

You cut your card stock in inches to 11 x 4 1/4. The card stock for the front piece is 1 3/4 x 11. The DSP is 1/8 an inch smaller. Then score the card base and card stock strip at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2. I laid the DSP down on the scored and folded strip and then folded it to match. Then I glued it on with our Tombo liquid adhesive.

The rest is just building the picture. I did not attach the front piece until I knew what I wanted in front and behind. I attached it when I was ready with Tombo. I used the Tombo and glue dots to attach all the elements. I used almost everything from the Spooky Fun stamp set and the Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies (sold as a bundle for a 10% savings).

I mean, really, isn't it the cutest? I'm planning to send it to my son at college next month.

A Shaker Card for Christmas

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Hi crafty friends! Today I am sharing a how to video for shaker cards.
We made this Christmas snow one in class last week.

Super cute, I think! 

Not hard, but you need to remember the steps in order!

1. Cut opening.

2. Emboss, if you want.

3. Snail the window sheet to the opening.

4. Put foam strips on the window sheet, around the opening, and in the corners.

5. With the card face down, rub the foam edges with your embossing buddy and then put a pinch of sequins, confetti, or glitter (or any combo of) in the center.

6. Peel off the backings on the foam.

7. Attach the back, image side down.

8. Mount on your card base.

9. Decorate/embellish as wanted.

10. Shake and enjoy!

The Christmas Card Adventure Begins!

Hello Crafty Friends!

My first Christmas card class got us going strong, we made 20 quick and easy, mailable cards.

Card stock....it's so pretty!

Here are the happy and accomplished class goers:

One friend got a flat tire and couldn't come, so the next week, I took the class to her! We met at a Panera, half way between our houses as she lives a bit away from me. We had a great time chatting and putting the cards together. We even had to get a bit creative when I realized I had forgotten a few acrylic blocks. We used a stamp case, and my phone!

Christmas card class number 2 featured a few cards that were a bit more involved. 

We made 2 each of 5 designs. ( 1 each of the stitched cards).

The stitched cards are from a Stampin' Up! kit. Super cute, and everything is prepped for you. (The hardest part was threading the needle).

This one might be my favorite. I love this bear!

This tree is from the stamp set Lovely As A Tree, it's an oldie but a goodie, in the annual catalog.

This class was a lot of fun! 

All in all, the Christmas crafty season is off to a great start!

It's All About the DSP! Remarkable Blog Hop

Hi Crafty Friends!

For this month's Remarkable blog post, I am sharing my love for paper, especially for the Designer Series Paper (DSP) made by Stampin' Up. I mean, this stuff is amazing!

Why? You may wonder, let me explain. The quality is wonderful, and it's a beautiful weight. It's printed on both sides and there is no show through. It comes in 12x12 or 6x6 sizes. The colors are wonderful and of course, they match the solid colors of Stampin' Up card stock, they go with the ribbons and embellishments. The artwork is also amazing. I like that one side may be a floral or a design and the reverse side is usually a bit simpler. This stuff is just fun to use, it can make your cards simple and beautiful.

This card features the Blooms and Bliss DSP. I let the paper stand center stage. It's almost like you can't go wrong! Just cut it up, add some coordinating card stock, add a greeting and you are good to go. Here are a few more cards featuring more of Stampin' Up's beautiful DSP.
