Hi Crafty Friends!
It's the first Wednesday of the month and I have a fun and wonderful project to share with you.
I'm participating in the Inspire Create Share Blog Hop, and this month, we are introducing (or re-introducing) you to Stampin' Up's 2017-2019 In Colors.
Each year, Stampin' Up introduces a new set of In Colors, that we will offer for two years. It's a great way to keep your color palate fresh and keep the creative juices flowing.
I've been designing a sampler framed art piece once a month for my class goers. For the month of July, our project features a beachy, nautical theme. As I was looking through our annual catalog (by the way, it's an awesome resource, not just for shopping, but for ideas and inspiration too) I was inspired by the new stamp set and paper shown on page 52. This page features the super cute new stamp set called Message in a Bottle and the Designer Series paper shown with it is called Naturally Eclectic. The paper features bright colors and fun designs.
I noticed that the paper uses three of our new In Colors, and I became pretty excited. A cool thing, it also has two of last years In Colors. So, have a look at my project, and especially look for the new In Colors: Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, and Fresh Fig.
Stamp set used: Message in a Bottle, Seaside Shore, and Colorful Seasons. The base of the project is Soft Sky and all the sampler pieces are backed in Night of Navy.
Don't you just love this little octopus? He's from the Message in a Bottle set. He's stamped in Night of Navy, on a very lightly watercolored background of Soft Sky and die cut out with our Stitched Shapes Framelits (love them!), then backed with a two inch circle punch out of Glimmer Paper.
I created this under water scene with the stamps from Seaside Shore set and the water background is from the stamp set, Tranquil Tide. The fish are in the In Colors: Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, and Berry Burst. The elements are all fussy cut as there are no dies for this set, and popped up on Dimensionals. But don't fuss, sit back, use our amazing snips, take your time, and cut them out. It's not too bad, really.
The lovely light house is from the Tranquil Tide set, it's stamped in Emerald Envy and Night of Navy. You can't tell it from this pic, but it's also fussy cut out and popped up on dimensionals.
I hope that I have inspired you to get creating with our new in colors, and if you are a beach lover, with our beachy stamp sets.
